“Tamara Saulwick: Endings” Matinee Performance

The final performance of the Seattle run of Tamara Saulwick: Endings is Sunday, February 4. The short run time (55 minutes) will have you out before dinner, and chances are you'll be thinking about this piece long into the night. 5th Avenue Theatre presents a brand new and original version of the smash-hit musical Mamma Mia! through February 25. Based on the songs of ABBA and set on the Greek island of Kalokari, Mamma Mia! is a lighthearted, comic, romantic tale, perfect for the month of Valentine's Day. From 5th Avenue Theatre: Sophie is preparing to marry her fiance, Sky. She wants her father to walk her down the aisle but doesn't know who he is. She discovers her mother's old diary and finds entries describing intimate dates with three men. Surely one of these men is her father. On the day before Sophie's wedding, her mother begins receiving guests at her taverna, and so the story begins.

From Book-It: Book-It hosts a Literature to Life/Young Audiences of New York adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel that chronicles the life of Oscar de León, an overweight Dominican boy growing up in Paterson, New Jersey. Oscar is obsessed with science fiction and fantasy novels, falling in love, and the curse that has plagued his family for generations. Director Francesca Zambello's "spectacular" (Opera Warhorses) new-to-Seattle production features choreography by contemporary dance leader Jessica Lang, as well as designs by "art world superstar" (San Francisco Chronicle) RETNA, who cites the structure of Egyptian hieroglyphs as the basis for his striking visuals.
