The Bravern Fashion Week 2019
The Shops at The Bravern are celebrating their 10 year anniversary this fall, and the celebration will be part of their Bravern Fashion Week held September 13-14, 2019. The weekend celebration will culminate with a runway fashion show held at Neiman Marcus, followed by an after party. The runway will showcase international luxury brands and how to style the trends for the new season. The Shops at the Bravern will donate 100% of proceeds for each Bravern Fashion Week ticket sold between May 1 and September 14 2019 to Save the Children. Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection 2019 kicks off on September 25-29 with a host of fashionable parties, runway shows and more. In addition to three ticketed fashion events, The Bellevue Collection will also play host to complimentary beauty, fashion and fitness events in Bellevue Square. Photo by Jed Asher Samiento For the past seven years Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection has traditionally kicked off with the Independent Designer Runway Show (IDRS). IDRS was a showcase for a group of up-and-coming fashion designers who applied to be in IDRS and who presented fully realized collections for the show. When I saw that IDRS was missing from the lineup this year I reached out to sponsor, Kemper Development Company, to ask about the change. “We have decided to pause our Independent Designer Runway Show (IDRS) this year as we’ve been fortunate that many local designers submitted to or have already been a part of it over the last seven years. Seattle Goodwill Glitter Gala 2019
The 2019 Seattle Goodwill Glitter Gala will be held at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on Saturday, November 2, 2019. This year the theme of the gala is "Force of Nature", celebrating the strength and resilience of the women that the fundraiser serves. The event includes an annual fashion show, and this year it will presented in four segments inspired by the elements earth, water, fire and air. The segments represented are Fierce in Floral (Earth), Drenched in Denim (Water), Aflame in Argyle (Fire) and Light & Airy (Air). Goodwill Glitter Gala 2018 The show also includes the Upcyle Design Challenge, showcasing the work of four fashion designers. The designers searched through bins at Goodwill’s Seattle Outlet to design a one of a kind garment. These Seattle-based designers used their talent, creativity and passion for sustainability to repurpose donated textiles and household goods into works of wearable art. The creations will be revealed November 2nd on the runway as the finale to each of the four segments. Seattle Goodwill has announced that its 36th Annual Glitter Sale will be its last. Proceeds from this annual event support Goodwill’s free Job Training and Education Programs for low-income and underserved people in the community, and over the past three decades the Glitter Sale has raised over $3 million dollars. The sale features formal wear for both men and women, shoes, handbags and boatloads of jewelry and accessories for holiday and special occasions. There are also special racks of designer, vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces. The Farewell Goodwill Glitter Sale will be held on November 9th and 10th from 9 am to 6 pm both days at the Seattle Goodwill Store. “While the sale has been beloved tradition for the past 35 years, increasing costs over the years have reduced the total dollars we can raise for our mission and we believe that there are better ways to support our mission,” said Seattle Goodwill Vice President of Operations Funmi Popoola. “As we look to the future together, we will continue raising funds for free job training and education programs in the most innovative and effective ways possible.
