November 2018 Georgetown Art Attack
November 10, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Georgetown Art Attack is every second Saturday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. It’s free, family-friendly, and there is street parking around the neighborhood near venues and complimentary shuttle stops. The shuttle will take you from the sprawling Equinox Studios, west to studio e, along the main street of Airport Way, and back.
Some of this month’s highlights include:
ArtForma Says Farewell with a Final Show by Dede Falcone
The nonprofit artist space, ArtForma, is closing its Georgetown location. Bid it adieu and see new works by founder and collagist Dede Falcone. 6007 12th Ave S, Suite C
Marela Zacarias Open Studio
The undulating, serene sculptures of Marela Zacarias look so comfy and cozy, like varicolored piles of meringue and cotton. They are, in fact, made of plaster over wire frames, which Zacrias sculpts and paints. See glimpses of her process and finished works at her open studio. 1222 S Angelo St.
Warren Dykeman: Attention Span at studio e
Warren Dykeman‘s latest solo exhibition of collaged painting at studio e draws from his iconic visual vocabulary. Part folk art, part diagram, part typographical experiment, his work immediately evokes many things but invites the viewer to spend time with the pieces to tease out the layered possible meanings. (Hence the show’s title, perhaps!). in this iteration, Dykeman has incorporated more digital tools into his process, which are then processed through more traditional techniques (and some careful physical abuse).
