From hardhats to Santa hats, this year Pacific Place has been reimagined. A sweeping new entranceway opens into light, airy spaces lined with new and favorite shops opening their doors. In the common areas, guests will find glass sculptures and digital scenery inspired by the PNW, and more artworks by local artists. This #ArtOfPacificPlace initiative also incorporates touches by local designers, painters and illustrators. Still a cornerstone of downtown Seattle, Pacific Place has transformed into a centralized celebration of what makes Seattle a destination for art, culture, fashion, music and more.

Vanguard Seattle is excited to partner with Pacific Place to kick off the holiday season and celebrate the reimagined space with “Twelve Days of Style.” VS Editor Sarah Caples and I were on the hunt for both stylish looks and fabulous gifts to help you celebrate the season. Whether you need a fabulous look for a holiday event, a great hostess gift or something on Santa’s list, we’ve got you covered. Get ready to check off that list…

ONE: Bezel and Kiln

Bezel and Kiln holds a collection of contemporary jewelry, accessories and housewares by independent artists and designers. Sarah and I were completely enchanted by the pieces by Jennifer Fujimoto, a Pacific Northwest artist with a background in graphic design and a love of Japanese folk art and textiles. Her one-of-a-kind decorative objects are so lovely, you won’t be able to make up your mind which one to choose. Prices vary.

We loved the vegan bags from Crystalyn Kae, which comes in several colors of glazed canvas, and wait for it…..are machine washable. The chic designs are a perfect combination of form and function, and we chose the cherry red Metier bag ($240) because it adds a pop of color to any gray day. The super soft Liamolly modern jacquard knitted wraps are 100 percent Italian-spun Egyptian cotton, which means you can wear them year round. Each piece by this company is designed, programmed and knit in the Liamolly studio on a computerized knitting machine, then hand stitched and pre-washed. ($148)

Need a show stopper stocking stuffer? Silver and Salt 14-carat gold sapphire stacking rings worn with the tanzanite and gold vermeil ring are dazzling. Wear them separate or on-trend, stacked on one finger for the utmost in understated style. Prices vary.

TWO: Aveda

Aveda has always been ahead of the curve, championing holistic beauty and environmental responsibility. That makes their products feel especially good as gifts.

We love their limited edition gift sets, beautifully boxed and filled with a variety of naturally perfect hair and body care. One of our favorites is the Cherry Almond Obessed Gift Set ($74) features Aveda’s iconic sweet, juicy floral pure-fume aroma. This hair and body care set includes a gentle cleansing shampoo, a softening conditioner, a gentle hand & body wash, a lightweight, quick-absorbing body lotion, and rich hand creme.

Can’t decide? Aveda soy wax candles are luxurious, vegan, and feature Aveda’s fragrances, such as Rosemary Mint, made with certified organic rosemary, peppermint, spearmint and other pure flower and plant essences.

THREE: JNBY Seattle

The JNBY Seattle store at Pacific Place is the brand’s first official expansion in the United States. That’s rather impressive, seeing as it has 1500 stores globally. JNBY was founded in the mid-90s, and has come to define itself as a destination shop and their universal brand philosophy: “Just Naturally Be Yourself”.

JNBY offers an array of contemporary apparel, footwear and accessories. You’ll find a little of everything, from an on-trend velvet handbag to street-savvy outerwear. When we visited, Sarah and I were all in for a gorgeous emerald green jacket the minute that we saw it. Its long cut and bright unexpected color are stand-out cool. ($353) It is perfect for over a dress and boots or dressed down with denim and some cool Dad sneakers. Style it with a black wool beanie ($49) for a chic street-style vibe.

All around the shop are unique accessories and footwear that can elevate any look. I loved the caramel-colored velvet handbag with a ribbon woven through its chain link handle, which would be a great gift for the handbag obsessed maven in your life. We also are obsessed with the Lala Diez Sling Bag I wore in the shoot, and it is on sale at $168.50 (from $337).

FOUR: The Handmade Showroom and Factory 43

The Handmade Showroom is a retail gallery that features collections by independent artists, designers, and small-batch creative companies from all over the Pacific Northwest. This synergistic union of small brands in a bright, accessible space is a win-win for artists and consumers. You can see a full list of supported makers on The Handmade Showroom’s website.

One of them is Factory 43, whom we have covered before for their genuinely cool Seahawks fan gear. Whether you count yourself one of the hard-and-fast “12” or are more of a fair weather fan, this one is for you. The grey unisex t-shirts and sweatshirts are emblazoned with a fierce and fabulous, green and blue seabird. It clutches a football in its talons above the word SEATTLE. Represent. I own this sweatshirt and it is my favorite game day look. (T-shirts starting at $32)

FIVE: Kate Spade

Kate Spade is known for their whimsical pieces epitomizing feminine chic—from gorgeous coats to sparkling heels. Their metallic pink wool-blend twill has such an ultra-lux feel and incredible details, including large clear pink resin buttons and oh-so plush faux fur collar. It even has a little sustainable secret: its signature spade clover patterned lining is made from recycled polyester

Don’t be afraid to wear a dressy coat like this in different ways. You can certainly use it as a topper for your party dress, and it is equally lovely with a pair of trousers or denim. The collar is even removable for more casual looks, and the pink will take you from season to season! ($798)

SIX: Trophy Cupcakes

Are you in charge of dessert at an upcoming gathering or in need of a great hostess gift? Trophy Cupcakes is a local company founded in 2007 by dessert-lover Jennifer Shea and her husband Mike Williamson. The bakery was one of the defining brands of the cupcake craze years ago, but they offer much more to tempt you, including macrons, cakes and tarts that are made daily from scratch. For their macarons they use natural, non-GMO almond flour and meringue biscuits that are made in small batches. They fill them with buttercream, Valrhona chocolate ganache and fresh jam.

That makes all of the macarons naturally gluten free, but the bakery has a other GF cupcakes. We love trophy Cupcake’s amazing customer service and attention to detail. The cakes—which must be ordered two days in advance—are so stylish you won’t want to cut them. You can even deliver your dessert selections ahead of time; Trophy Cupcakes can deliver desserts to most zip codes in the greater Seattle/Bellevue area for a $20 delivery fee (plus tax).

SEVEN: J.Crew

Here’s a look that showcases both unexpected glamour and amazing comfort…. a winning combination that will make you stand out in style at your next holiday party. The J.Crew Collection silk twill button-up ($128) and matching wide leg cropped trousers ($148) in jungle cat floral is a gorgeous way to wear leopard print.

And who doesn’t like to wear pajamas in the daytime? Channel some old style glamour with matching pieces that stand out in cherry red print. We styled this gorgeous look with a pair of J.Crew’s classic Colette d’Orsay pumps ($248) in holographic glitter that will be your go-to party shoe. Remember, glitter in the daytime is always a good idea, so don’t be afraid to wear these Italian-made mid-heel pumps with anything and everything! Check out all their looks on the main floor at Pacific Place.

EIGHT: Simply Seattle

Now that we have given you a great pair of pajamas to wear out, how about a pair for a night in? When you get a break from the bustle of the season, there is nothing better than a pair of PJ Salvage flannel pajamas ($68) from Simply Seattle. Cozy up by the fire in the holiday “pugs and kisses” flannel pajama set, or—if you are feeling generous—give it as a stylish gift. We adore their matching super soft French Dog Socks ($18) to complete the set.

Simply Seattle also has sportswear from Christmas Past and Christmas future, from the Seattle Sonics to our forthcoming future hockey team. You can order any piece of Sonics icon Gary Payton wear and he will autograph it for you….how cool is that? Giving The Glove for Christmas might just make you win Christmas….

NINE: Wishes Toys and Games

Game night is the classic way to connect with friends and family at the holiday time and beyond. Whether you have a family tradition already or want to create one, the gift of a board game is the ultimate in retro cool style.

Wishes Toys and Games has opened two levels in the old Barneys’ space (RIP) and is loaded with games and toys for the young and young at heart. We were so enchanted by all the giant stuffies and cutie pie dolls that we decided to stay and play a round of “We’re Doomed”, one of the hottest new games around. The premise is this: “The world is coming to an end. You, the most powerful leaders in the world, have only fifteen minutes to build an escape rocket and leave this doomed planet. With limited time to build the rocket, it might not be big enough for everyone. You have to work together. However, in the end, only the most influential survive.” Bring your family and friends together for a night of old fashioned fun.

TEN: Francesca’s

Francesca’s is filled to the brim with cozy sweaters, sparkling accessories and jewelry and stylish pieces that won’t break the bank. Black florals are everywhere this season, so this dress from Francesca’s (styled above) was just what we were looking for. Use it for a beautiful daytime look that can go from desk to drinks in a moment. The high-low hem, knotted front detail and wide cuffed long sleeves definitely make it a standout. And at under $50 you can look like a million bucks without breaking your holiday budget.

We styled this beautiful piece with black suede over the knee boots, and it would also look lovely with printed hosiery and a pair of heels or short booties. We also fell in love with their beaded and sequined clutches, which are the” frosting” to any holiday look.

ELEVEN: AMC Theatres

One of our favorite holiday traditions is to catch as many of the great lineup of movies as possible that come out this time of year. At AMC Theatres at Pacific Place you can grab a bite, then see all the latest and greatest on the big screen. Give an AMC Stubs A-List subscription, which features perks like free online reservations anytime for up to 3 movies every week, 10 percent back on food and drink purchases, free size upgrades on popcorn and fountain drinks and priority lanes at the box office and concessions. AMC at Pacific Place even has a place to chill and enjoy a refreshing adult beverage before the movie starts (21 and older), and there is no hurry to get into the theatre early because your seats are reserved!

AMC shows the blockbuster hits as well as its Artisan Film series, which currently includes Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite and Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit. Not only that, but AMC at Pacific Place presents Metropolitan Opera‘s live in HD simulcasts, including two recent presentations of Akhnaten. Look for Maria Stuarda and Tosca in the coming months. Going to the cinema truly never goes out of style.

TWELVE: Lululemon

Lululemon remains a giant in the athleisure world, with ever expanding line of garments and accessories, pairing form and function through cutting edge textiles and designs. Right now we are loving Lululemon’s dark camouflage print, which is showing up not only in their workout wear but their outerwear, scarves and on their bags.

The sleek and functional Now And Always Tote is one of our favorites because it can fit a laptop, your matching sweatshirt or a wallet and all your travel essentials. Whether you carry it to the gym, to work or on the plane, this is the perfect gift for you or someone you know that is on the go.

And lucky you, it is our giveaway item, courtesy of Pacific Place.
