On Friday, April 26, 2019, University Village welcomes its latest addition, the opening of Amour Vert’s Seattle store. The store will carry items for women and baby, as well as accessories, shoes, and a selection of home and gift items. A capsule men’s collection is in the works. Amour Vert has 7 brick and mortar stores in the US and has plans to open 6 additional stores this year, with Seattle being the first for 2019.

Founded by Linda Balti together with husband Christoph Frehsee, the company has created pieces that reflect the ease of French style in an eco-friendly fashion. The name Amour Vert means “green love” in French, and that is the perfect description of what this company stands for. The sustainable fashion and lifestyle brand promotes friendly earth practices that show their continued commitment to making products that are a viable part of the green movement.
The company standards include using fabrics that are sustainable, like harvested beechwood fibers and organic cottons that are pesticide free and biodegradable. Amour Vert also makes limited quantities of their products to ensure the highest production standard and eliminate excess waste. In addition, this San Fransisco based company produces locally, with 97% of their products being made in California.
