The packed house sipped bubbles and bourbon and watched a runway show abundant with vibrant color, animal prints, mixed patterns and retro/modern silhouettes. rich blues, greens and wine colors, plaids and major impact prints. Textures of velvet, sequins for any time of the day and lots of leather were everywhere. Peacock-colors gave depth to the pieces, and details included sequined evil eyes and floral embroidery.
There was such elegance in the layering of hues of the same color, like a deep green leather jacket under a softer, sage-colored, long puffer. Layering also applied with animal prints on animal prints and florals with patterns.
Dramatic luxury puffer coats ruled the runway, as did the “Dad” sneaker with those major elevated soles. Western boots, strong shoulders and belt bags slung across the chest gave a nod to the 90s with a modern update. Handbags came in beautiful jewel tones in unique shapes, plus major pieces with details like fringe and graphics or the simple and classic flap-top.
White boots and lace-up booties were prevalent, as was the color yellow, giving winter dressing a pop of fresh color. Turtlenecks were layered under everything for both men and women, as are puffer coats and vests. Leopard and cheetah dresses, coats, denim and sneakers showcased the extent of one of the season’s hottest prints.
