Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart turns 262 on January 27, 2018. Those who want to gather celebrate the composer’s birthday have two great options in Seattle and Bellevue. In Seattle, Town Hall presents its eight annual toast and afternoon concert at The Royal Room. In Bellevue, Early Music Seattle hosts a very special evening performance on period instruments at RESONANCE. Ambitious music lovers and Mozart fans could easily attend both.

Town Hall Toasts Mozart at The Royal Room, 2pm

While Town Hall’s building undergoes renovations, its Arts & Culture series continues off-site. Host Byron Schenkman performs some favorites from Mozart’s oeuvre. He will be joined by Angela Draghicescu on piano, Sean Osborn on clarinet and Liza Zurlinden on violin. The day’s program features: Sonata in F Major, K. 547, for violin and piano; Sonata in E-flat Major, K. 282, for piano; Variations in G Major, K. 501, for piano, four hands; and Quintet in A Major, K. 581, arranged for clarinet and piano.

Guests enjoy a glass of champagne and chocolates, served in celebration of the Austrian wunderkind. (This event is all ages. Guests under 21 get a glass of cider instead.)

Tickets are general admission. $15 for the public. $10 for Town Hall members. Purchase tickets online. Doors at 1:30pm at The Royal Room (5000 Rainier Avenue S, Seattle, WA 98118).
