On November 29, CHANEL opened the first-of-its-kind CHANEL x Nordstrom, a Cruise ephemeral boutique at Nordstrom Downtown Seattle. The boutique holds the Cruise 2017-18 Collection, “The Modernity of Antiquity,” originally shown in May 2017 in Paris. The boutique was brought to Nordstrom through the work of the Nordstrom Director of Creative Products, Olivia Kim.

Located on the second floor of the flagship store, the boutique is a contemporary homage to Greek architecture. Four sets of columns constructed of metal wires anchor the ephemeral boutique, meant to evoke a spirit of lightness. Designed in rose gold, copper, bronze and beige gold, the structures separate the boutique into four distinct spaces for a mix of ready-to-wear, costume jewelry, shoes and handbags.

Earthen tones and a Greek goddess-like elegance define the Chanel Cruise 2017-18 ready-to-wear line: draped jersey dresses in sky blue; fluid sun-pleated trousers; and fringed black and gold tweed mini dresses, belted with a matching tweed rope. Athena herself, goddess of wisdom and namesake of Athens, seemed to be the central inspiration. Her sacred animal, the owl, was seen repeatedly in the collection, on jewelry and accessories, such as the Chanel Black/Gold Owl Embellished Minaudiere Bag.

An in-store fete followed by a private dinner on November 28 celebrated the opening of this unique boutique. For the occasion, the retailer brought out a chic crew of Chanel-clad It Girls, including Asia Chow, Rainey Qualley and Sistine Stallone. The well-heeled guests sipped bubbly and shopped this unique collection that brings together the iconic Chanel and Seattle’s quintessential classic retailer.

If you made the “Nice” list this year, get some of these incredible pieces on your Santa wish list. The CHANEL X Nordstrom is open to the public from November 29 to December 10.
