In the Fall of 2016, Olivia Kim, Vice President of Creative Projects for Nordstrom, partnered with Nike to develop the in-store ‘Nordstrom x Nike’ sneaker boutique. Styled as a women’s-only lifestyle concept that blurs the lines of fitness and fashion, the boutique offers exclusive Nike merchandise mixed with a curated selection of unique fashion pieces.
As has been shown repeatedly in the latest runway shows and beyond, sneakers have grown from the hallmark of street style to an integrated part of the wardrobe of the modern closet. Through the Nordstrom x Nike concept, a constantly changing assortment of often exclusive limited edition pieces have highlighted KIm’s ability to introduce new talent and established brands in unique ways.
The newest addition is the Nike Cortez by A.L.C. The Los Angeles based company that combines the lightness of LA, a hip-hop heritage and cutting edge style that make it the perfect partner to give this Nike classic shoe a new spin. With longer laces to tie up the leg in a ballet style or lace around the ankle, the Nike Cortez by A.L.C. is just one more reason to love the return of this sneaker style. Add brass lace tips, snakeskin on the heel, and inspirational quotes on the foot beds and you have got one cool pair of sneakers.
The Nike Cortez by A.L.C. is available in three colorways starting August 25 exclusively in store at the Nike x Nordstrom sneaker boutiques. Starting August 28, they will be available at Nordstrom online and at nike.com and Nike+ SNKRS, as well as at Net-A-Porter, select Nordstrom stores and A.L.C.
