The finalists for The Henry Art Gallery‘s biennial Brink Award will be gathering with art lovers and assorted revelers this Friday. The Brink Bash is a celebration of the finalists of the finalists’ accomplishments, but it’s also just a lively social event. This year, it’s happening in the stylish flagship store of Filson.

The homegrown Pacific Northwest vibe of Filson is perfect for an award for artists in the region (Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia). If you haven’t checked out the building, renovated just last year, this is a perfect opportunity. There’s plenty of room to mingle, nosh and dance to music by KEXP‘s DJ Larry Rose. Complimentary drinks and food are included with admission.

More on the award from the Henry:

Established in 2008 with the generous support of longtime Henry benefactors and Seattle philanthropists John and Shari Behnke, the award recognizes and supports young visual artists on “the brink” of outstanding professional careers.

The 2017 finalists are:

  • Jovencio de la Paz, Eugene, OR
  • Demian DinéYazhi, Portland, OR
  • Leon Finley, Seattle, WA
  • Tiziana La Melia, Vancouver, BC
  • Francesca Lohmann, Seattle, WA
  • Anne Low, Vancouver, BC
  • sidony o’neal, Portland, OR

The winner of The Brink Award receives $12,500 and a solo exhibition at The Henry Art Gallery in 2018.

Whether you are taking part in Upstream or avoiding the crowds in Pioneer Square, pop down to SoDo for an energetic celebratory evening at Filson.
