StorySLAM winners throughout Seattle will coalesce at Great Hall, this Thursday, March 30 for the Seattle Moth GrandSLAM. For those who are unfamiliar, The Moth is a non-profit group based out of New York City that specializes in the lost art of storytelling. Now a nationwide movement, The Moth participants take the stage and deliver off the cuff personal stories to an enthusiastic audience. Great Hall has this to say about the event:
The Moth GrandSLAM is the culmination of 10 monthly StorySLAMs around Seattle, with StorySLAM winners joining together for a fierce, hilarious, heartbreaking storytelling competition. In typical Moth fashion, the winner of the GrandSLAM will be chosen by guest judges from the audience.
As one Moth member puts it,“The Moth reminds me how fascinating, brave, complex, and fragile we are. We have so much in common, yet every StorySLAM is unique.”
Online tickets for Thursday night’s performance in Seattle are sold out. However, first-come, first served tickets may be made available at the door, so be sure to arrive early. Your ticket also gets you a copy of The Moth’s new book, All These Wonders: True Stories about Facing the Unknown.
