L.A.-based indie darlings Xiu Xiu are on tour throughout the U.S. and Europe, and Seattle is one of their first stops. This Tuesday, March 21, catch the band at Kremwerk. (It’s just the first of many killer shows this week at the downtown venue, including the monthly Crybaby Studios showcase on Wednesday, March 22.)

Xiu Xiu’s latest album, FORGET, was just released on Polyvinyl Records on February 24, 2017. It’s as haunted an album as long-time fans have come to expect. Even if you have only heard their 2016 release, Xiu Xiu Plays The Music of Twin Peaks, you know just what I mean by haunted. Exhibit B: Their track “Stupid in the Dark,” which made my Halloween Video Playlist in 2015.

FORGET has an aptly oneric quality; the production seems to emulate memories on their way toward oblivion, already more like a dream than a reflection of a past experience…yet persistently haunting. There is also the more traditionally poppy, infectious track “Wondering.” Check out the video for that below, and get ready to boogie on your bed.

Advance tickets are gone for now, but Kremwerk will be releasing more the day of the concert. Stay tuned to the event page on Facebook for the news on that.
