The 2017 Academy Awards go down this Sunday, February 26. Before the big night, the good people of Three Dollar Bill Cinema want to offer their take at Academy Award Conversations at Hotel Sorrento, on Tuesday, February 21 from 7-9pm. From the event’s Facebook page:
“Our third installment of Filmmaker’s Talk is back, but this time, with a TWIST! We’re hosting a panel discussion focused on the upcoming Academy Awards. We’ll discuss queer nominees, those who didn’t make the list and should have, and how queer and minority representation at the Academy has, or hasn’t, changed.”
Panelists for the talk include: Brian Davis (board member of Gay City Health Project, noted writer on film and LGBT culture); Jen Kilchenmann (Three Dollar Bill Cinema Board Member and noted film enthusiast), Beth Barrett (the interim artistic director of SIFF), Ryan Crawford (staff writer at Jetspace Magazine) and Sara Michelle Fetters (editor-in-chief of MovieFreak.com and MY FRIEND on twitter).
And if the panel gets you going, check out Three Dollar Bill’s 12th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday, February 26 at the Egyptian Theatre.
