Bassist and singer, Stephen Bruner, a.k.a. Thundercat, in all of his psychedelic, funky glory will be playing at Barboza, this Sunday, February 19.

Picking up the bass when he was just four years old, Thundercat has developed into a world-class musician. Most famously known for his work playing bass with acts such as Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Suicidal Tendencies and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the artist has been making waves the last couple of years and shows no signs of stopping. His contributions to Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly landed him his first Grammy. What’s more, Rolling Stone credited Bruner as being at the “Creative Epicentre” of the album.

His own music features smooth, soulful R&B styled tunes sung in falsetto. He has released two critically acclaimed full length albums and a widely praised mini album, all of which displays his mesmerizing sound and talent. Plus, the live performance of his blend of jazz and modern funk is bound to leave you smiling.
