Fashion Week at The Bellevue Collection has announced the application process for the sixth annual Independent Designer Runway Show or IDRS. Since 2012, the IDRS program has given a platform for local designers to gain exposure, receive mentoring and take their designs and ideas to the next level.

Ten designers will be chosen to participate in the program based on: creativity and originality; workmanship; and business model. The latter is a comprehensive concept that includes brand positioning, selling and distribution model, marketing strategy and the presentation of their line.

Chosen applicants will receive mentoring from a panel of fashion industry experts throughout the design process, in which they will produce a full collection. The IDRS program culminates with a runway show during Bellevue Fashion Week. Participants will also be featured in profile pieces in Seattle Met magazine.

The designer chosen for top honors at the show will receive a $5000 cash prize, furnished by The Kemper Freeman Family and The Bellevue Collection. The winning designs will also be on display throughout Bellevue Square during the month of October.

Are you a designer ready to take things to the next level? Applications must be in by April 1, 2017. Following an interview process by a judges panel, ten designers will be selected to participate. The finalists will be announced April 24, 2017.
