Children’s Film Festival Seattle 2017 at NWFF, January 26-February 11

Now celebrating its 12th edition, the Children’s Film Festival returns to Northwest Film Forum this week. From Thursday, January 26 through February 11, CFF will feature nearly 200 family-friendly films from 53 countries. From festival director Elizabeth Shepherd: We believe it is more important than ever to champion the ideas of social inclusion, diversity, global awareness, teamwork, empathy, environmentalism and human rights, kindness and love. We want children to come to the festival not only to be entertained by funny and fantastic films, but also to discover common ground, to build empathy and celebrate our shared humanity. The festival kicks off Thursday night at 7pm. The evening’s programming will feature films from CFF’s partnership with PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival. PLURAL+ features prize-winning pictures by international filmmakers under 25-years old. Other highlights include an all-you-can-eat Pancake breakfast. The feast goes down on Saturday, February 4, 9:30am at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption (1804 13th Ave). Following the breakfast, scoot to Northwest Film Forum for a program of animation and live-action films titled Friends are Forever at 10:30am.
