DIVA GLAM: Party to Support the MAC AIDS Fund, December 11

December 1 is World AIDS Day. The devastating AIDS epidemic shaped culture in ways that are impossible to measure, and are often not discussed because of a persistent stigma around the disease. Fortunately, new treatments have made living with HIV manageable, but access to life-saving medications isn’t always available. However you may choose to mark December 1, save the date on December 11 for a celebration of life and the fight against HIV. Dozens of local drag performers will take the stage at Neighbors on Capitol Hill for DIVA GLAM. The show’s title plays on MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam line, which has supported the MAC AIDS Fund for two decades. The inaugural face of the line was RuPaul, and other LGBTQ stars and allies have followed. Fashion forward notables include Debbie Harry, Cyndi Lauper, Shirley Manson, Dita von Teese, Boy George and, at present, Ariana Grande. DIVA GLAM will feature its own roster of local glamazons, performance artists and members of the Imperial Court of Seattle, including DonnaTella Howe and Kimber Lee.
