Two pop-up sales featuring some of our favorite local designers happen this weekend in Madrona: April Pride at Hitchcock Madrona and Paychi Guh at Juniper. Between these and the Buki Brand launch downtown, Seattle fashion lovers’ cups runneth over.
APRIL PRIDE Trunk Show at Hitchcock Madrona
Jewelry studio and boutique Hitchcock Madrona hosts their first trunk show with designer April Pride. You can read our 2014 style profile on April Pride and THE DRESS for which she and her namesake company are best known. THE DRESS was inspired by a dress that her mother-in-law made in the 70s. Its classic cool shape and beautiful design soon made it one of Pride’s favorite pieces when she received it as a gift. It should be renamed The Magic Dress because it is one of those pieces that works on everyone.
Come meet this charming designer herself, learn about her creative process and enjoy some champagne while you shop. Her tartan skirt is a must have piece that will be at the forefront of your holiday and winter closet. Peruse the latest Fall/Winter fabrications as well as a few of the Spring/Summer weights added in for fun. And don’t miss her trademark tartans; they are amazing. Shop selections include shirts, skirts, jean jackets and leather belts. All pieces are one-of-a-kind and/or limited editions. Pride is also bringing uber cool AP+ Rachel Ravitch python bracelets to the event.
Isn’t it time to invest in some pieces that you will love enough to pass on to your next generation?
Paychi Guh Sample Sale + FW16 Collection at Juniper
Juniper specializes in sustainable, fashion forward clothing, accessories and bags, and this weekend you can also shop the ultimate in cashmere. The Third Annual Paychi Guh Sample Sale is a can’t miss event for those who want to nab an artful knit for the cooler months. Designer Paychi Karen Guh brings a bevy of sample pieces on sale (up to 75% off) alongside regular-priced pieces from her FW16 collection.
Paychi Guh was launched in 2013, incorporating simple form, refined texture, modern graphics and high-quality cashmere. Guh has extensive industry knowledge on global sourcing, production, and fashion marketing from over 15 years working as Textile Designer and Design Director at fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom. These aren’t your basic pieces; they are truly original in design and meant to be owned for years to come. The process in making these ultimate cashmere pieces for Paychi Guh is a fascinating one. Read more here on how she gets from goats to gorgeous in this journey in creativity and craftsmanship.
The Paychi Guh collection of super soft, everyday pieces really are the ultimate in luxury cashmere. I was lucky enough to score a cardigan at a sale two years ago that grows softer every year, a trait of truly high quality cashmere. Make sure to check out her collection for Fall/Winter as well to see what is new from this talented local designer, while enjoying champagne and light bites.
