If you haven’t been able to check out the Henry‘s latest exhibitions, Friday, November 4 is the perfect, festive opportunity. From 7:30pm to 10pm, check out the Henry Art Gallery Open House, Fall 2016.
The halls will be filled with celebration and chatter as guests mingle and get up close to photography by Chuck Close and take in the illuminating stories of MOTHA and Chris E. Vargas present: Trans Hirstory in 99 Objects. There will also be new work from the Lion’s Mane Art Collective on display. In the lower galleries, the towering, grotesque, dark wooden sculptures of Paul McCarthy seem especially right for the darkening harvest season. They’ll surely be a unique backdrop for many group photos.
Guests will be able to mug for a photo booth by Hello There You, too. Naturally, there will also be dancing and music by DJ Marc Muller of Emerald City Soul Club. Beer and wine will be available for purchase through $5 drink tickets. (Admission includes two drink tickets to get you started.)
General admission is $15. Admission for students, UW staff/faculty and seniors is $12 and (as always) it’s free for members. Consider becoming a Henry member and enjoy discounts and special invites year-round. Get the info about membership online.
