On October 17, 2016, Nordstrom unveiled the first concept boutique in collaboration with Hermès and Olivia Kim, Vice President of Creative Projects for Nordstrom. The Hermès boutique takes center stage on the main floor of the Nordstrom flagship store, among the other specialty boutiques such as Prada and Louis Vuitton.

The space shows like a modern art gallery, with playful, inviting features that make browsing irresistible to visitors. It is the first of its kind, featuring only accessories, including men’s and women’s silk and fashion jewelry.

The esteemed Hermès scarves are, of course, a major attraction. Some hang on large racks with their intricate designs fully displayed. Others are tied and twisted beautifully, to show how signature details emerge depending on how you wear them. Mirrors placed near the displays of scarves, rainbow silk ties and jewelry all show how gorgeous these objects are at any angle. It’s a kaleidoscopic experience that will enthrall long time fans and new Hermès customers alike.

Olivia Kim herself was present to celebrate the newest Nordstrom concept space. “We are excited to partner with a brand with such history to revisit the idea of what luxury can be,” said Kim. “The shop is designed in a playful and colorful way to accent this heritage and show a youthful side to our brands, while telling a story through a new lens of curated product.”

The boutique was designed in partnership with Robert Storey of StoreyStudio, a creative director known for his bold and graphic aesthetics. The highlight of the boutique’s design is a circular suspension installation of hundreds of strands of Hermès silk. Step inside and look up at the mirror overhead. You’ll see yourself surrounded by the beauty of the Hermès silk pieces. Inspirational fun.

On October 20, 2016 from 4-7pm Nordstrom officially kicks off its collaboration with a celebration including music and light bites. When you visit, I highly recommend talking with the Hermès silk expert in the boutique. Her creative and modern ways to tie and wear the iconic silk scarves are so inspiring that you may have trouble leaving without one. The famous orange box with the brown ribbon has found a new home in the heart of Seattle.

The Hermès Concept Boutique at Nordstrom will be in the flagship store through 2017.
