Get ready for a classic tale of scorned love and revenge. Seattle Shakespeare presents EuripidesMedea, Tuesday, October 18 through November 13 at Center Theatre in Seattle Center. Seattle Shakespeare provides this cutting summary:

“Wife. Mother. Exile. Medea abandons her home and country for Jason, the man she loves. When he discards her and their children for a new bride, the blow strikes deep into Medea’s heart. She transforms into concentrated, white-hot fury. Love smolders to hate then burns to revenge, driving her to savage acts. With their children caught in the crossfire, Medea scorches all and everything around her.”

The Greek play comes to us from a translation by Kenneth McLeish and Frederick Raphael. It is directed by Kelly Kitchens, and stars Alexandra Tavares as Medea and Sylvester F. Kamara as Jason. Visit the official website for a full list of the cast and crew, show times and other production notes.
