It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are many ways to participate in the fight against the disease. X-Lockz is one example based in Seattle. In commemoration of his late aunt, Bunty Methai created X-Lockz shoe accessories as a means of fundraising for cancer care and research.
X-Lockz has recently partnered with Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center. Together, they hope to raise $5,000 by the end of October. Methai says, “Wear a badge and pass one forward as a support, or wear one to honor the memory of a loved one lost in our social media push to help spread awareness.” Each pair sells for $9.99.
The X-Lockz team has been promoting the #PassTheBadge hashtag on social media. Participants are encouraged to use #PassTheBadge to show the recipients of badges they pass along. All proceeds from the sales of X-Lockz go to support breast cancer research and care. Head to the official website for details.
