This Thursday, September 29, the Museum of Northwest Art will present the second annual MoNA Luminaries Northwest Artist Awards. The Luminary awards celebrate four artists who have had a lasting impact on the Northwest region. An award will also be presented to a selected Art Historian. A knowledgable panel and jury determine the winners of each award. The panel consists of museum professionals who represent all parts of the Northwest region. The jury consists of those with expertise in Northwest art. All proceeds from the evening will go directly towards MoNA’s future exhibitions and permanent collection stewardship. In addition, each of the awarded artists will receive a $1,000 honorarium and be featured in a group exhibition at the museum.

The 2016 MoNA Luminary Awards are named in honor of Tony Angell Award for Sculpture, Alfredo Arreguin Award for Mid-Career Artists, Fay and Robert Jones Award for Painting, Patti Warashina Award for Emerging Artists and Bill Holm Award for Art History. Don’t miss this beautiful evening of art and celebration at the Seattle Yacht Club. There will also be a Keynote by Executive Director of ArtsWa Karen Hanan. Reservations can be made online or by calling the MoNA Store. Tickets are $150 per person.
