Labor Day is behind us, the summer months are over and the kids are back in school. Hence, a brand new season of arts and cultural happenings have arrived in Seattle! This Tuesday, journalist and fiction writer Margaret Wappler will read from her debut novel Neon Green at Elliott Bay Book Company. Wednesday and Thursday sees the debut of two new plays. First up is Seattle Shakespeare Company’s presentation of The Winter’s Tale at Seattle Repertory Theatre, followed by Eugène Ionesco‘s Rhinoceros, performed by Strawberry Theatre Workshop at 12th Ave Arts. On Friday, Cinerama will present 10 days of big movies at the 70mm Film Festival. On Saturday, check out loads of new visual art (and some vintage R. Crumb) during Georgetown Art Attack. On Sunday, see Philadelphia-based musician and activist Moor Mother present a musical set at Machine House Brewery. So many great choices this week and so much time to take it all in!
