On Friday August 26, wrap up the summer with the return of SAM Remix at Olympic Sculpture Park. As always, SAM Remix brings fresh opportunities to dance, make art and see shows. DJ Explorateur and J-Justice will provide music all evening, with other performances scattered throughout. That includes sets by Erik Blood and Echoes in Sleep, presented in partnership with Henry Art Gallery’s program series The Untuning of The Sky.
Remix never disappoints with interactive art activities, often inspired by the SAM’s current exhibitions. In this case, the programming is partly inspired by Graphic Masters: Dürer, Rembrandt, Hogarth, Goya, Picasso, R. Crumb and new work in the sculpture park. Seasonal installations and artwork in the park include Tamiko Thiel’s Gardens of The Anthropocene and Victoria Haven’s Blue Sun.
The art activities for the evening will be led by Wyly Astley, T H E H A N D Comic Collective, Siolo Thompson and Sandra Farmer. You also won’t want to miss live performances by Au Collective and Tessa Hulls.
Never been to Remix before? “My Favorite Things” tours are a fun way to see the park. Tour guides this time include: Emily Zimmerman (Associate Curator of Programs at Henry Art Gallery), Lady Krishna (muse, performer, guru), Janet Galore (artist, designer, technologist), Boyfriends (4th wave future sex band) and Robert Wade (photographer and Henry Art Gallery trustee).
Be sure to stop by for one of the artsiest parties of the summer!
