The term “epic” is sorely abused, but on some occasions it feels right. When Oregon-based charity Magic Wheelchair says they create “epic” costumes for kids in wheelchairs…they aren’t overstating anything. The looks that they have created thus far are nothing short of phenomenal.

To help Magic Wheelchair’s founders and makers in this delightful, creative and compassionate endeavor, burlesque artist and costume designer Jamie von Stratton is throwing a fabulous cocktail and costume party with live performances and an auction of unique garments designed by Von Stratton herself.

Here are the deets:

The Shenanigans Cocktail Soirée, 7:30 – 9pm

Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite film OR cartoon character and capture their look with friends at the party’s photo booth. Buy raffle tickets for the opportunity to win a slew of prizes.

The Show: 9pm

The lineup for the evening, hosted by Manuela Horn, features singers, dancers and aerialists:

  • Dance Belt
  • The Lady B
  • Kitty Kitty Bang Bang
  • Elsa Von Schmaltz

  • Sister Kate
  • Sarah Brodsky

One-of-a-kind garments by Jamie von Stratton will be modeled during the show and up for auction. All proceeds benefit Magic Wheelchair. $45 VIP admission includes cozy sofa seating at the front and swag bags. $25 general admission. Ages 21+. Purchase tickets online.
