On Wednesday, May 25, The Rum Collective will partner with Maple Leaf’s Cuban-Venezuelan-Colombian restaurant, Mojito to raise rum awareness relative to workers’ rights and social responsibility. With rum, food and good company, all the money raised will go towards the legal project PASE. PASE works with the La Isla Foundation to raise awareness of the injustice involved in the cane industry.

With a goal of raising enough money before the end of May, PASE will be able to stay open until the end of the year in efforts to raise even more money towards the cause. Be sure to stop by for a fun night of dancing, drinking and eating, all in efforts of bringing awareness of the silent epidemic that is impacting sugar cane workers in Nicaragua. There will be a live Latin band, cocktails by Jason Alexander of Tacoma Cabana, a silent auction, raffles and more. Tickets are $20.
