Intiman Theatre and Valerie Curtis-Newton have partnered to co-curate the 2016 Intiman Theatre Festival with a dedication to great American plays by black women. In efforts to take a deeper look at community and our relations to neighbors, the program has been curated with the goal of deepening these intimate understandings.

They have managed to organize nearly 20 plays by Black women and will feature local artists, actors and directors. The festival pass lineup includes: Stick Fly by Lydia R. DiamonEmerging Artist Showcase: Meet Adrienne KennedyWedding Band: A Love/Hate Story in Black and White by Alice ChildressCan You Hear Me Now?: Contemporary Plays by Black Women and UN-TAMED– Hair, Body, Attitude and Black Women Wisdom: A Public Conversation. Be sure to check out the schedule, including several showings of Stick Fly this week at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute.
