Over 25 visual artists from Building 30 West in Magnuson Park will open their studios to the public on Sunday, May 1 for an open studio afternoon. This biannual event allows the public to see inside the art studios of Building 30 West, a redeveloped wing of a Navy administrative building, now serving as a gallery and history event space. Attendees will enjoy new works and works in progress, and have the opportunity to discuss pieces with the artists themselves.

Also opening on May 1, Magnuson Park Gallery celebrates Mother’s Day month with a group show entitled Like Mother, exploring the bonds between mothers and children. Curated by L. Kelly Lyles, the show includes mixed media works from fifteen accomplished Seattle artists: Lisa Myers Bulmash, MalPina Chan, Mary Coss, Susan Derrick, Marita Dingus, Maura Donegan, David Francis, Malayka Gormally, Deborah Faye Lawrence, L. Kelly Lyles, Holly Ballard Martz, Nia Michaels, Carol Milne, Joan Stuart Ross and Elana Winsberg.
