EMP is kicking off a new fundraising campaign to highlight the incredible talent and creativity among fashion designers here in the Pacific Northwest. The inaugural runway event, EMP Reveal: Northwest Innovation in Fashion, will showcase the work of five local designers whose originality and modernism have made their work stand out. This debut of the Reveal series will feature designers from the Seattle area: Francisco Hernandez of Built for Man, Aykut Ozen of Ozen Company, Deborah Roberts of Silvae, Suk Chai of SCHAI and Tom Ordonio of Tom Ordonio.
“We are proud to feature these Seattle-based fashion designers who together demonstrate a creative approach to prints and fabrics, and a fine attention to detail and quality resulting in beautiful and compelling collections,” says Deniz Anders of Nordstrom and member of Reveal’s Program Committee. “The goal of this event is to highlight local designers who are contributing to the creative energy of our city, while raising funds for EMP programming.”
EMP is the perfect platform for both celebrating the immensely creative designers that live and work in our area and connecting them to the creative atmosphere that is fostered at the museum. The runway event will benefit many of EMP’s youth programs, including Curriculum Connections Outreach workshops; STAR (Students Training in Artistic Reach), which supports and coaches young music ensembles; Teen Artist Workshops, Creativity Camps for Kids and Sound Off!, the PNW premiere 21 and under battle of the bands.
Both Front Row and Second/Third Row VIP Tickets get you into a private meet and greet reception with the designers prior to the show, as well as complimentary valet parking, drinks and a swag bag. There is also a general admission seating and standing room available. With the unique venue and amazing homegrown designers, this is certainly a show not to be missed.
