Synthpop musician St. Lucia comes to the downtown Showbox this Tuesday, March 2 to celebrate his new single “Dancing on Glass” and the release of his new album, Matter. St. Lucia, the stagename of Jean-Phillip Grobler, has been gaining popularity since he broke into the indie electronica scene in 2013. His live performances, backed by four other electronic musicians, have quickly become favorites at music festivals nationwide.

St. Lucia’s 2013 debut LP When The Night earned raves everywhere from Entertainment Weekly (“an absolute smash”) to Elle (“we have an obsession for this group”) to Billboard (“essential listening”).  The last two years have also seen the band touring with the likes of Ellie Goulding, Empire Of The Sun, Charli XCX, Foster The People, performed at Coachella and Lollapalooza, and appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!,  and Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Portland-based musician Grace Mitchell will open for St. Lucia, making for an evening of indie beats sure to get you dancing. Buy your tickets for $20 on The Showbox’s website.
