Town Music + Seattle Arts & Lectures Presents: we do it to one another, Feb. 25

An unprecedented partnership between Seattle’s Town Hall and Seattle Arts & Lectures takes the stage this Thursday, February 25. Town Music Curator Joshua Roman will premiere his song cycle we do it to one another, a setting of Tracy K. Smith’s 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winning collection of poetry, “Life on Mars.” The evening of poetry and performance will include poetry readings by Smith herself, along with a performance of Roman’s setting, sung by acclaimed soprano Jessica Rivera and directed by the composer. A discussion of the creative process and the overlap between music and poetry will also take place, fueled by the evening’s collaborative artistic pursuit. Tickets range from $5-25, and may be purchased on Town Hall’s event page.
