February is the month on the calendar that takes us past the stark reality of January; it is a short and sweet month that is the welcome gateway to springtime. While most of us are still in the depths of winter, it doesn’t mean your style has to get buried in layers. There are so many great pieces both in stores and online that can take you away from the boredom of your winter closet. Take a look at how to be heart-wrenchingly beautiful, even in the midst of cold weather months.

Heart Wrenched

I am so smitten with these 3×1 WM3 Crope Selvedge Jeans that I cannot stop talking about them. I ordered them in black, and when they arrived they did not disappoint. It’s all about frayed and unsewn edges right now, and the heavy denim and slightly higher waist make them super chic and flattering. They would be just as cool with a pair of sneakers as they are with boots or heels. Pair it with the Fleur du Mal sexy sheer chiffon cropped button-down with its romantic rose lace underlay, worn under a cozy cream Burberry wool alpaca and cashmere coat. I have been loving Jennifer Meyer’s jewelry, especially this cool ring–now that is a Valentine. Zara’s gorgeous blue-grey velvet chunky heel boots are perfect for February, and these vintage Chanel heart shaped earrings are a sweet nod to St. Valentine.

I love a good over-the-knee boot, and if it happens to be in a snake print, even better. This Sam Edelman pair were 50% off when I put them in my Net-A-Porter basket and promptly got distracted. By the time I went back to purchase them the next day they were 70% off! I suppose good things do come to those who wait. They would be so cute with this See by Chloe Denim Romper with crochet detailing. Speaking of details, these lovely Pamela Love Shooting Arrow Earrings and a vintage heart Celine clutch give the perfect amount of heart to your attire. I like changing my iPhone case to reflect the time of year, so I loved this little cover for February. To top off the look, I turned to actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her company goop, who have joined forces in a long-term business venture with Juice Beauty. The company launched an expanded selection of their certified organic and natural ingredient makeup and skin care products under the creative leadership of Paltrow, which debuted in January of last year. The Conditioning Lip Color in Fig seems perfect for this look. I love the idea of beauty products that are organic and have natural ingredients, and I am looking forward to trying the products myself in the near future. Stay tuned.

Heart Wrenched #3

Many ’90s trend are making their way back into our closets this year, and the flare leg pant, both in long and cropped styles, is definitely back. These BCBGMAXAZRIA Faux Leather Cropped Flares are a hip way to show off those beautiful Sergio Rossi Godiva Suede Pumps. And speaking of Godiva, it would be sweet of you to surprise someone special with a heart shaped box of delicious chocolates on your next outing, just because. Christopher Kane’s gorgeous top with heart-shaped guipure lace overlay is a real show-stopper. If you must cover up, wear Comme des Garçons’ little polka dot merino wool PLAY cardigan, with their cheekily hidden heart-shaped logo. I have been anxious to try the PLAY Comme des Garçons fragrances as well, so I definitely think this bottle would be a cool little valentine. Last but certainly not least: a little Lanvin. The arty feel to this bag really grabbed me, and after dragging giant bags around all fall, a mini bag is a welcome change.

Beauty can be heart-wrenching, inspiring and completely liberating. Whether it’s the details of a favorite jacket, an unexpected combination of fabrics or a pop of color on a gray day, find your own way to celebrate February with style.
