Cineoke! presented by Three Dollar Bill Cinema combines the joy of karaoke with the EVEN MORE JOYOUS world of movie musicals. The event happens on the first Monday of every month at Re-Bar in Capitol Hill. Doors are at 6:30 PM and the singing begins at 7 PM. Cover is $8 ($5 for Three Dollar Bill Cinema members), and potential singers can choose from hundreds of songs on hand, or bring in your own music on DVD.

I’ve always imagined how neat it would be if Jesus Christ Superstar had an all female cast. I think we can all agree that the erotic tension between Christ and Judas in the 1973 film is palpable and real. Now just think how much realer it would be if I sang “Heaven on Their Minds” to an adoring crowd at Re-Bar… or whatever. Insert your own fantasy here.

Three Dollar Bill Cinema is all about bringing LGBT film and media to the people. Interested parties can read all about the organization and learn more about how to become a member at threedollarbillcinema.org.
