Opening this weekend, visit SPACE Gallery, located within Magnuson Park (Building 30 West, 7448 63rd Avenue NE), and explore the work of artist Chuck Santon. The exhibition, the artist’s first in Seattle, explores position and movement through three large installations and various works on paper. The show will be on display until October 10, with an artist talk on September 19, 2015 from 1 to 4 PM.
In this show, Santon has minimally modified stock interior doors and “combined them with painted canvas panels to create free-standing works with great presence.” Stanton states, “These new works continue my exploration of the experience of position in space and movement through space as well as their potential for expression and metaphor.”
Santon is an American artist who studied in his native Detroit. He has lived and worked in New York, Vancouver, BC, Kyoto, Japan and Seattle. His mediums include drawing, painting, installation work and performances.
The exhibition is available for viewing at SPACE Gallery, open Thursday through Saturday, noon to 5 PM (as well as by appointment.) each week through October 10. For more information regarding SPACE Gallery, click here. For more information regarding Chuck Stanton, click here.
