Fashion First kicks off its twelfth year (and eleventh runway show) with the theme, “12th Year, 12th Man” on September 18, 2015 at The Showbox SODO. Fashion First brings local designers and businesses together in a fun, eclectic atmosphere for a runway show and after-party following silent and live auctions, benefiting two local children’s charities, Inspire Youth Project and The Crescent Moon Foundation.
Inspire Youth Project provides social and emotional support for at-risk youth affected by HIV/AIDS, and children transitioning out of familiar environments and supportive communities. Services are offered to youth ages 5-18 and beyond. The Crescent Moon Foundation, founded by NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon, provides support for educational pursuits that benefiting children in need who have displayed a commitment to their community. Its Rising Moon Scholarship Program awards ten scholarships of up to $5,000 annually to students that demonstrate this commitment and who excel in leadership and academics.
The fashionable event kicks off with a 12th Year VIP ticket holders pre-party and silent auction. A pre-show cocktail party follows, featuring a “selfie station” and special guests celebrating the “12th Year, 12th Man” include members of the Seagals, and the Seahawk mascot, Blitz. A live auction hosted by John Curley begins at 8 PM. When the runway show begins at 8:30 PM, the lineup will include eleven local retail stores, including Intermix Bellevue, David Lawrence, Canopy Blue and La Ree. The runway will also feature Seahawks dresses created by fashion students at The Art Institute of Seattle with bags from the Glittersweet “Seattle Colors” collection. The after-party gets started around 9:45 PM and lasts until midnight for those that want to keep kicking their high heels until the very end.
