Rejuvenated interest in the Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk has inspired many of the artists and galleries located in the Tashiro Kaplan Building to open on the second Saturday of each month for an Open Studio event. This new event provides attendees with a second chance (or perhaps a first) to see new works and engage with artists.
From the TK Collective Press Release:
The Tashiro/Kaplan Building houses several art galleries, 4Culture and many artist studios as well as live/work artists lofts. It is a popular destination every first Thursday of the month in Seattle’s oldest neighborhood art walk. Because these are working studios and usually open by appointment, we have decided to add a second option to open our doors for folks who cannot attend the Thursday evening events.
