It’s Monday (and a day off for some of us), but let’s just imagine it’s already Friday! You’ve successfully (almost) made it through your week and the weekend is so close you can smell the farmers market. All you have to do now is survive Friday, so why not do it in style? Ditch the slacks and the starched collared shirts and have a little fun with your casual Friday outfit. Here are my suggestions:
The foundation to any casual Friday outfit is a great pair of jeans. Consider investing in a pair of selvedge jeans. Selvedge denim is woven using a technique that will ensure that your jeans do not fray or unravel. A pair like the Levi’s Made and Crafted ‘Tack Slim’ Selvedge Jeans will start off stiff, but will soften and mold to your body over time. When buying stiff jeans like these, make sure you buy them a little tight so they break into the shape of your body. This will make you and the jeans look great. These Levi’s jeans are extremely versatile. You can dress them up with a button up, or throw them on with a t-shirt for a quick trip to the grocery store and look good regardless of what you pair them with.
For my favorite part of any outfit, the shoes, I recommend opting for a pair of dark brown boots. For example, these Marsell boots available at Baby & Co (and currently on sale!) are the perfect addition to any man’s wardrobe. Boots are a great opportunity to make an investment in your wardrobe. Simple boots that are going to wear well over the years are your best bet. Boots like the Marsells will probably look their finest after a little wear and tear and will continue to look great for years to come. Throw on a simple comfy shirt like the J Crew flannel popover. The popover is a much more interesting shirt than the regular button up and the flannel is sure to keep you warm on a cold Seattle day. Finish your look off with a casual but fun watch. I am a fan of this Komono watch. The blue leather strap and gold case will add a nice touch to your chic casual Friday outfit.
