Coulee Scarf by Lindsey Bender

A scarf is a fabulous gift any time of year, but I love giving them especially around the holidays. It is a chic present that is also very personal because there is an endless assortment available. One of my favorites has to be gorgeous scarves made by Seattle-based textile design company, Coulee. Each piece is hand painted with non-toxic dyes on natural fibers by owner, Lindsey Bender, so every scarf is an original.

The 100 percent wool gauze makes them soft and lightweight, perfect for any season. For a fun addition to the gift, you could include a book on scarf tying. My personal favorite guide is by Hermés, which you can find on eBay.

To purchase: Juniper (3314 E Spring St) – 206-838-7496 – www.juniperinmadrona.com. $156
