When Lisa Clinton opened Juniper almost eight years ago, she had a guiding philosophy in regards to what she would carry and how it would be displayed: “Less is more.”
“I wanted to have a small shop with personalized attention,” she explains, “and to carry things that were made with integrity—no sweat shops—to last through trends and years. To me the perfect piece in a wardrobe is something you want to wear day after day.”
This is evident in what is displayed and how Clinton displays it.
“I want things to be seen and appreciated so the atmosphere is pretty airy.”
Airy, but soft and welcoming—Juniper has a resident feline that fans of all things soft will adore. Lisa Clinton has volunteered at the Seattle Animal Shelter for over ten years and thought having a foster cat in Juniper from the shelter would be a great way to bring attention to cat adoptions as well as entertain children while their parents shopped. The idea worked: Over thirty cats or kittens have been adopted over the years, many by customers. Thinking big, having originality, purpose and compassion are just part of the appeal of this gem of a store and of Clinton herself.
This atmosphere makes Juniper the perfect location to host the upcoming Paychi Guh Trunk Show and Sample Sale, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 15. This will be the line’s first ever sample sale with past season pieces from 40 to 60 percent off. All of the designer’s coveted pieces are 100 percent luxurious cashmere. Paychi Guh tied for runner-up in the 2013 Independent Designer Runway Show at The Bellevue Collection last year and her beautiful sweaters, scarves and wraps have a timeless appeal and are both chic and modern.
Want to get a jump on your holiday shopping? Don’t miss out on this opportunity to score some gorgeous Paychi Guh cashmere pieces just in time for the winter weather. I will most definitely see you there.
