On September 11, 2014, the 10th annual Fashion First hits the runway at the Showbox in Sodo. The show features fashion from boutiques from all around the Puget Sound, including Madison Park’s Canopy Blue, Ketch in Ballard, David Lawrence of Bellevue and Seattle, and University Village’s Mercer.

September is a month full of runway shows, and this one in particular celebrates a selection of the some of the local shops that have made a valuable impact on fashion in Seattle. The theme of this year’s event is Fashion, Fun, and Firefighters. Because of the significance of the show date of September 11, local firefighters, who will be honored during the show, can attend free of charge. If you are not a firefighter, ticket prices start at $50 for general admission, which is standing room only, and go up to $500 for Ultra VIP tickets. Doors open at 6 PM for VIP guests and 7:30 PM for general admission, and the runway show begins at 8 PM.

Fashion First 2014 will also hold an auction during the evening, with proceeds to benefit Inspire Youth Project. Inspire Youth Project provides social and emotional links for at-risk youth affected by HIV/AIDS, and children transitioning out of familiar environments and supportive communities. Services are offered free of charge to youth ages 5-18 and beyond.
