A denim dress is what I consider a classic, as it offers versatility and effortless style. Similar to the shirt dress that is showing up a lot this spring, the denim dress catches spring’s lighthearted appeal while still being chic. I adore the rag & bone chambray dress in particular because it is slouchy but not baggy, with a wrap style that is extremely flattering. Long sleeves mean you can show a little leg, so it can be sexy without being over the top. And pockets! That always wins me over. It’s a great day dress or perfect weekend wear (goodbye, Lululemon)—and it is this week’s Vogue A Trois.

Leopard and denim are a match made in heaven. They work together so well, I believe, because leopard adds a dash of sass to the bohemian denim, and a little attitude is a good thing. These leopard Vans are a cool way to be comfortable and make a bit of a statement. Makeup guru Bobbi Brown has come out with a line of sunglasses that are a have a retro feel to them—the “Steve” tortoise sunnies call back to the leopard pattern in the shoes. Zoya nail polish in Sklyar is such a great spring color with the denim. And Rebecca Minkoff’s cult classic in a smaller version, the Mini M.A.C. Crossbody Clutch, has a transparent composition with a Mexican style print that screams “summer fun”. Monogramming and personalizing accessories is huge right now, and it is a great way to make your own “it bag.” Cinco Powell is a company that sells medallions that can be personalized and added to their line of bags, tassels, chains and more. I liked the idea of stacking two necklaces, one with a single initial on top of another with a trio of initials. This company sells online and at home trunk shows for the time being, but good new–local rep Sheila Winemiller has shared her code to get 10% off your purchase when you shop online. Us the code SW14 to get the discount.

Downtown cool is the vibe with the addition of a great pair of Prada Leather Bicolor Open Toe Ankle Booties. The ankle strap and the metallic leather heel are out of this world. Gorgeous. I am a huge fan of Marni, including their funky jewelry. This cluster of black and brown resin beads on a ribbon is the coolest conversation piece ever. Chloe’s Boxwood Sunglasses in silver won’t clash with your fab necklace and work perfectly to hold your hair back when you wear them on your head, a requirement for me with my sunglasses. And another blast from the past—fringe! Its baaaack! Gucci knows how to rock this look on a bag with black suede and fab bamboo handles.

Finally, go right into warm weather mode with this pair of Dolce & Gabbana Floral Print Canvas Wedges. Toss your wallet and a tube of “Funny Face” Nars Lipstick into the chic Mini Flap-Over Straw Satchel by Muun, which is made with elephant grass and sports black leather straps. The nautical vibe of this ASOS stripe jacket is a fun little piece to throw on that I can see looking great with this dress, or white jeans, or…well, you get the idea. And if you haven’t shopped on ASOS yet, you are in for a bit of shopping fun. Check it out.

I believe the boys at rag & bone has taken this 90s classic, the denim dress, and made into a fabulous 2014 find. Whether you wear it dressed down or with a swanky edge, the denim dress is a chic way to say hello to a new season.
