When short boots stormed back onto the scene a few years ago, I was a bit skeptical. They had the 80s written all over them to me and I had done that already, so I was less than thrilled. But like everything in fashion that gets revisited, there is always a new twist or an update that modernizes the look, and soon enough I was hooked. Now I can’t imagine my closet without a pair—or pairs, ahem—because of their versatility and ability to make any outfit more modern. From dresses to denim, the short boot has become a wardrobe staple.
This week I have chosen the See by Chloe Two-Tone Booties to style three ways. The stacked chunky heel is stylish and on trend, and the two-tone leather and nubuck make these the perfect chic little kicks. Wear them with this silk Zero + Maria Cornejo Silk Marley Dress to really stop the show. The flow of the draped silk of this dress is gorgeous and I am completely in love with the pixelated Bob Marley images printed on the fabric. It is another great example of clothing as an art form. This chunky Fendi ring in black is understated and cool and would look great paired with a pair of Alexis Bittar Large Gold Pyramid Hoops. Pick up the blue in the silk print with the Z Spoke ZAC POSEN Posen Marlin Clutch and you will be—as always—perfect.
Life isn’t always a party, though, and wearing these beautiful boots to the office will definitely step up your game. Start with
Theory’s Fia Reedly Melange Pant in black, which is a great not-so-basic. This cropped trouser shows off your boots perfectly now and when the weather gets cooler, they can be paired with a taller boot to keep a consistent line and lengthen your silhouette. Style the
J Crew Perfect Shirt in Pinot Noir with the
Tatty Devine Mexican Embroidery Necklace, buttoning up the blouse and wear the necklace over it like a collar. The cardigan craze is back again and this style of sweater can be a great alternative to a jacket if you style it right. I love this I
sabel Marant Palermo Cardigan because of its chic lines. This outfit may not get you a raise but you will certainly get noticed, in a good way.
