Jherek Bischoff is one of the most talented new composers to come out of the Northwest and he’s already gaining accolades elsewhere and collaborating with a range of musicians and performers, including Xiu Xiu, Amanda Palmer and The Degenerate Art Ensemble. His orchestral compositions draw comparison to the work of Arvo Pärt and the New York Times has dubbed him a “pop polymath.” Earlier this year he collaborated with David Byrne of Talking Heads. View the fruit of their work in the video below.
Bischoff is playing music from his debut album, Composed, this Saturday (December 1, 2012) at The Moore Theatre with special guests Nika Rosa Danilova (Zola Jesus), Mirah Zeitlyn, Zac Pennington (Parenthetical Girls), Soko, Jason Webley and Tomo Nakayama. Get your tickets here.
