Bumbershoot represents music, film, art, spoken word, theatre, performance, dance and visual arts. It is North America’s largest urban arts festival, taking place in the heart of the city at the 74-acre Seattle Center. Attended by well over 100,000 visitors experiencing everything from regional to international bands, the participants had the choice of many musical treats to sample. Spanning 4 decades Bumbershoot is a leading cause of cultural bends here in Seattle. The 2012 lineup didn’t disappoint. VanguardSeattle was treated to a rocking set from the UK band The Heavy who show cased their new album The Glorious Dead… lucky us.
